- CHANGED Breadth 3 → 4 by composition swap: AAPL and META reclaimed EMA20, AMZN lost it; NVDA slid -0.7% → -2.1%.
- CHANGED AI HARDWARE STRUCTURE populated for the first time (was empty), raising the bar for any hardware-slowdown read.
- CHANGED Peer table reshuffled: GOOGL in-line → lagging 3.7pp, META lagging 7.2pp → in-line on a +3.55% gap with the [NEW] $18B child-safety settlement.
Desk Synthesis
Executive Takeaway
The tape rotated, it did not resolve. Breadth ticked to four above EMA20 but the composition swapped — AAPL and META in, AMZN out — and all seven still print NEUTRAL with a 31% conviction ceiling. NVDA's post-print fade to -2.1% vs EMA20 on 1.52x RVOL is positioning unwind, not demand deterioration: $947.7B tracked CapEx, $319.5B AI-attributed, and TSMC July revenue +44.7% YoY and accelerating say the physical buildout is intact. Side with the structure.
Positioning
- MSFT is the only name with trend, momentum and peer confirmation aligned (+4.3% vs EMA20, +5.2pp over GOOGL/AMZN). Hold; RSI 67.4 is not an entry.
- Don't press NVDA short against the foundry data. NVDA's in-line standing vs AMD/AVGO is peer attrition (AVGO -6.9%), so it earns no relative-strength credit either — respect the print, don't chase either direction.
- GOOGL is the interesting dislocation, per Claude's framing: worst RSI (45.2), lagging META/MSFT by 3.7pp, and the market is taxing the same $185B CapEx book ($130B AI) that underwrites the foundry acceleration. Sentiment, not impairment.
- Fade AMZN's 2.2pp "edge" over WMT/COST — WMT at -5.2% supplies all of it, against Jassy and Garman selling on 8/21.
Key Risks
- Desk read flags 5/5 hyperscalers trimming QoQ CapEx. That's mix and timing risk inside a rising aggregate — not a slowdown, but not a green light to add hardware beta.
- Equipment tape stays split (KLAC -3.5% / AMAT +0.8% on 21d vs LRCX +16.1%). Foundry strength is not yet broad WFE confirmation.
- Cached NVDA/META/TSLA option rows are unchanged from yesterday (NVDA spot 223.96 vs cash 209.66) — unusable for live pricing.
Watch
NVDA · CapexIndex combined CapEx $947.7B, TSMC YoY +44.7% and rising vs a stock -2.1% below EMA20 with IV30 41.1% over RV20 33.1% — whether it reclaims trend tells you if this is a valuation reset or a demand doubt.
What Changed
- Breadth 3 → 4 by composition swap: AAPL and META reclaimed EMA20, AMZN lost it; NVDA slid -0.7% → -2.1%.
- AI HARDWARE STRUCTURE populated for the first time (was empty), raising the bar for any hardware-slowdown read.
- Peer table reshuffled: GOOGL in-line → lagging 3.7pp, META lagging 7.2pp → in-line on a +3.55% gap with the [NEW] $18B child-safety settlement.
